This article is written by Regreener, which is one of the five partners described. We describe each provider from its own public information and do not rank them; they are ordered by type.
Searching for SAF certificate providers gives you airlines, traders, platforms and fuel producers, each explaining why their route is the right one. For a buyer, the useful question is which type of partner fits your travel pattern, volume and reporting needs, and what to check with each.
This article describes five partner types with one verifiable example each, based on what the providers publish themselves (accessed 9 October 2026).
The short answer. Choose an airline programme if most of your travel is with one airline group, a trader or platform if you want certificates independent of your airlines, a SAF specialist if you want a direct contract with a fuel supplier, and an independent advisor if you want suppliers compared and SAF combined with carbon credits.
How to choose a SAF partner
Six criteria separate a good fit from a poor one.
Link to your travel. Is the offer tied to flights with one airline group, or independent of who you fly with? Under book and claim, your employees do not need to fly on the SAF, but some programmes are built around an airline relationship.
Certification and registry. Which scheme certifies the fuel (RSB or ISCC), and in which registry is the certificate issued and retired? The main registries are the SAFc Registry, the RSB Book & Claim Registry, ISCC’s Credit Transfer System and the SAF Registry run by CADO.
Claim type and documentation. Do you receive a Scope 3 claim in your name, with a retirement statement that shows tonnes of fuel, tCO2e, pathway and serial number?
Volume and flexibility. Is there a minimum, can you start with a pilot, and can you agree multi-year volumes?
Additionality. Does the provider state whether the SAF is on top of the ReFuelEU blending obligation?
Scope of service. Do you only need SAF, or also carbon credits for residual emissions, sized from the same footprint? We explain the combination in SAF certificates vs carbon credits for business travel.

The 5 partners
1. Airline corporate programme: Air France KLM Corporate SAF Program
Who they are. The Air France-KLM airline group, with a programme for corporate customers, Bluebiz members and travel partners. How buying works. You choose an annual investment or invest in SAF per ticket as part of your travel policy (KLM). After the investment you receive a SAF document from “an independent and audited platform”, which KLM says can support business travel reporting under SBTi guidelines. The platform is not named on the public page. Minimum volume. Not stated on klm.nl. The Bluebiz page mentions an annual SAF investment starting from €5,000, or from €2,500 using blue credits (as of October 2026). Certification and fuel criteria. KLM states at least 65% lower life cycle CO2 than fossil jet fuel, an average reduction of around 90% over the past three years, no competition with food production and no link to deforestation. Best for. Companies with an Air France-KLM corporate contract or Bluebiz membership that want SAF linked to their own airline. Things to check. Which platform and registry issue the document and who audits it, whether it is a registry retirement statement in your name, and whether the volume is additional to the EU mandate.
Other airline groups run similar programmes. Lufthansa Group, for example, offers SAF purchases with a Scope 3 certificate from €2,000 and states that purchased SAF is in addition to mandatory blends.
2. Commodity trader: STX Group
Who they are. An Amsterdam-based environmental commodities trader that sells SAF certificates under its STRIVE by STX brand. How buying works. Bilateral and tailored: STX says you can “start with a small pilot transaction” or fix prices in multi-year agreements (STX). STX retires the certificates on the buyer’s behalf. Minimum volume. STX states that it does not require large minimum volume purchases. Certification and registry. STX says it sources exclusively from ISCC- or RSB-certified producers and that its certificates are tracked in a non-profit public registry, which is not named on the page. Best for. Companies of any size that want certificates independent of one airline, starting with a pilot. Things to check. Which registry holds the certificates, the fuel batch and pathway behind them, whether you receive a retirement statement in your name, and whether the certificate is a Scope 3 claim.
3. Platform: Avelia
Who they are. A blockchain-based book-and-claim platform for SAF, launched in 2022 by Shell Aviation, Accenture and American Express Global Business Travel. How buying works. Companies co-fund SAF that is supplied into the fuel system at participating airports and claim its environmental attributes, tracked on the Avelia registry. Access is mainly through Amex GBT or Shell Aviation. According to Amex GBT (March 2026), 66 corporations and airlines had joined and more than 590,000 tCO2e had been abated by the end of 2025. Since 2025 the platform has moved to a multi-supplier model. Minimum volume. Not published. Certification and registry. The Avelia registry; the certification scheme is not named on the pages we reviewed. Best for. Larger companies, especially existing Amex GBT clients, that want SAF from more than one supplier through one platform. Things to check. The certification scheme, who audits the retirement statements, the minimum commitment and contract length, and the exact Scope 3 claim wording.

4. SAF specialist supplier: SkyNRG
Who they are. An Amsterdam-based SAF supplier and developer, a member and certified operator of RSB. How buying works. Through its SAF for Corporates programme on book and claim. SkyNRG runs a discovery phase, then proposes a SAF claim quantity, a price range and commercial terms; a standard contract covers the first order, with longer partnerships possible (SkyNRG). Minimum volume. Not stated. Certification and registry. Each claim states the quantity, the CO2e savings, a Scope 1 or Scope 3 confirmation, the life cycle breakdown, the feedstock and its certification, and a validity of two years from physical supply. SkyNRG publishes an independently audited annual Impact Report. RSB reported in March 2025 that SkyNRG made the first approved registration in the RSB Book & Claim Registry. Best for. Companies that want a direct contract with a SAF specialist, from a one-year order to a longer partnership. Things to check. Whether claims are retired in a registry in your name, the two-year validity window against your reporting year, and whether the SAF is additional to the EU mandate.
Other fuel producers sell to companies directly as well; Neste, for example, offers its Neste Impact service under ISCC certification.
5. Independent advisor: Regreener
Who we are. A B Corp-certified Dutch carbon credit provider working with more than 200 European companies on carbon credit procurement, offtake agreements and reporting. How buying works. For SAF, Regreener works supplier-agnostically: we source per client from recognised certification schemes and registries rather than from one fixed supplier, compare offers per tonne of CO2e, and combine SAF certificates with carbon credits for residual emissions, sized from one flight footprint as in our guide on how many carbon credits you need. Minimum volume. Any volume, from small pilots to multi-year volumes. Certification and registry. Depends on the source selected for each client; the retirement statement comes from the supplier’s certification scheme and registry. Carbon credits go through Regreener’s 100+ datapoint quality framework. Best for. Companies that want offers compared across suppliers, one plan for reduction and residual emissions, and documentation prepared for their auditor. Things to check. As with any intermediary: which supplier and registry each certificate comes from, the fee structure, and that the Scope 3 claim is retired in your name.

The table only shows what each provider publishes. Prices are not compared because none of the five publishes a price; ask for a quote per tonne of CO2e. Our article on SAF certificate prices explains what drives it.
Two more routes are worth knowing. The Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA), led by EDF, RMI and the Center for Green Market Activation, runs group tenders and the SAFc Connect marketplace, open to its members only. And note that the SAFc Registry itself is not a marketplace: it records certificates, and you buy them from a supplier, broker or buyers’ group.
Questions to ask any SAF provider
Use the same due diligence as for carbon credits. Our list of questions to ask a carbon credit supplier translates directly; for SAF, add these:
Which pathway, feedstock and life cycle value are behind the certificate?
Which certification scheme and which registry, and will the certificate carry a unique serial number?
Is it a Scope 3 claim, retired in our name, and who holds the Scope 1 claim?
In which period was the fuel delivered, and how long is the certificate valid?
Is the SAF counted towards the ReFuelEU blending obligation or on top of it?
What does the retirement statement look like, and who audits it?
Tip from Bernard de Wit, Co-founder of Regreener: “Send every provider the same questions in writing and put the answers side by side before you look at price. Which registry, which certification scheme, who holds the Scope 1 claim, which delivery period. A provider who answers all of them clearly and without follow-up is usually also the one whose documents get through your audit without rework.”

Start with the footprint, then pick the partner
The right partner follows from your flight footprint, the share you want to address and the claim you need to make. The purchase steps are in how to buy SAF certificates, and the reporting in how to report SAF certificates in Scope 3. Whoever you buy from, word the external claim carefully; our guide to carbon neutral claims under EmpCo explains what holds up. If you want offers compared across suppliers and combined with carbon credits in one plan, talk to a SAF specialist.
